BREWING INSTRUCTIONS

Congratulations! You’ve just picked up a freshly roasted bag of Dynamite Roasting Co. coffee and you are ready to brew.

Here are a few suggestions for making really great coffee at home:

Auto Drip Coffee Maker:

  1. Fill water tank to desired level. (2 cups water on measurement line = 1 mug of coffee)
  2. Weigh out whole bean coffee: 10 grams (0.35 oz. or approx. 2 TBSP) of coffee for every cup line on the water tank.
  3. Adjust grind (medium grind, like the texture of sand)
  4. Grind coffee
  5. Add ground coffee to filter and place in brew basket
  6. Press button to brew
  7. Serve and enjoy

French Press (8 cup):

  1. Preheat French Press (glass brewing container) with hot water
  2. Weigh out whole bean coffee: 56g (1.97 oz. or approx. 12 TBSP) for a large (8 cup) French Press
  3. Heat 900g (32oz or 4 cups) filtered water for brewing
  4. Adjust grind (coarse grind, like coarse sea salt)
  5. Grind coffee
  6. Discard water that was used to preheat French Press
  7. Add ground coffee to French Press
  8. Pour hot water (205 degrees F) into the French Press, saturating all of the grounds and pouring to the halfway mark. Begin timer for 4 minutes
  9. After 1 minute, stir the “bloom” (or top layer) with a spoon using a gentle folding action and pour the remaining water to the top (leaving enough room for the lid assembly to be placed in without overflowing).
  10. Place the lid on the brewer
  11. When the timer goes off, gently press the plunger down and serve!

Clever Dripper:

  1. Place filter in brewer and rinse with hot water
  2. Weigh out whole bean coffee: 20 grams (0.71 oz. or 4 TBSP)
  3. Adjust grind (medium grind, like coarse sand)
  4. Grind coffee
  5. Add ground coffee to filter
  6. Add 320 grams (11.2 oz. or 1.4 cups) of hot water to the coffee bed, aiming to evenly saturate the grounds
  7. Start a 3 minute timer
  8. After 30 seconds break down the “bloom” (or top layer) with a spoon using a gentle folding action
  9. Place the lid on the brewer
  10. When the timer goes off, place the Clever Dripper over your cup to drain and enjoy!
HELPING BREWING FACTS

How much coffee do I use?

Generally, no matter what technique you use to brew coffee, a good place to start is using a 1:16 ratio (1 parts coffee to 16 parts water). Experiment with coffee weight and ratio to find your preferred cup.

How hot should the water be for brewing coffee?

We recommend using water that is between 195-‐205 degrees, but if you don’t have access to a thermometer let the water sit for 30 seconds just off boil and it should be close to the desired temperature for brewing.

STORING

Be sure to store your coffee in an air-tight container, away from light, heat, and moisture. A glass jar in the cupboard is perfect.

Avoid the fridge and freezer or your coffee can start tasting like yesterday’s leftovers. For best flavor, buy your coffee often, at least every two weeks.
