We have known Lennon Diaz for many years and enjoy spending time with him over early morning cups of coffee from his farm when we are visiting Marcala. In addition to running his farm, Lennon is an expert cupper in COMSA’s quality control lab. He is also leading the new production roasting program at the cooperative.

Until 2014, Lennon Diaz was estranged from the world of coffee. He worked as an agent in a bank. It was his father who was involved in the production of coffee. One day he made the decision to start a project where he could have independence and feel like he was doing something different. In his first batches on his fathers’ farm, he managed to obtain a coffee with a profile of 87 points. Lennon knew that in order to maintain the quality of his coffee, he had to focus on the process of experimentation and observation. Lennon’s coffee is perfect for the cool, high altitude climate. It is very silky and sweet with hints of caramel and apricot.
